During the year since Desarae Kohrs, an alumni of Park Rapids Area High School, was crowned Miss Wolf Lake at their annual Harvest Festival, she has met many new friends and learned some important life lessons.
The community of Wolf Lake will host its 39th annual Harvest Festival this coming weekend, Aug. 19-20, with events including a parade, mud run, obstacle course and bean bag tournament.
On Feb 8, Century Middle School students Jordan Harding and Elsie Forbes of Park Rapids participated in the Regional Spelling Bee in Thief River Falls after advancing from local and district competitions.
