Work began about a week ago removing wooden walls and other items from the second floor of the downtown Des Plaines Masonic Temple/Leela building at Miner and Lee streets. The activity, which will include clearing out most of the three levels of the brown brick structure, is to prepare it for future redevelopment and leasing.
