Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Auditor's Office is reminding residents that absentee voting for the November General Election begins Wednesday, October 19th. In-person absentee voting at the Des Moines County Courthouse will start on Wednesday, October 19th, and end on Monday, November 7th. Residents can vote in person from 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. The Auditor's office will also be open for voting on Saturday, November 5th, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Burlington, IA- A group of local women have organized protests in response to the recent overturning of Roe V Wade. 2 protests have been scheduled to take place Tuesday in Downtown Burlington. The First Protest will take place at the Des Moines County Courthouse at 10 AM. The Second protest will begin at 6 PM at the bottom of Snake Alley and end at the Memorial Auditorium. Event organizers told the Hawk Eye that the event will be family-friendly and signs are encouraged. Protesters are asked to remain peaceful and respectful to city property, remain on sidewalks, and not disrupt traffic.

The Des Moines County Courthouse will be open for in-person voting from 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday to Friday through June 3rd. The Courthouse will be open Saturday, June 4th, and Monday, June 6th is the last day for in-person absentee voting. Mail-in ballots must be delivered to the Auditor's Office by 8 PM June 7th.
