The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics will open amid atrocity crimes and other grave human rights violations by the Chinese government, 243 nongovernmental organizations from around the world said today. The groups urged governments to join a diplomatic boycott of the Games, slated to begin February 4, 2022, and for athletes and sponsors not to legitimize government abuses.

Nathalie Loiseau, Minister for European Affairs, will visit Marseille and Brignoles on April 19 and 20 in the context of the citizens’ consultations on Europe launched in France by President Macron in Epinal on April 17.
These consultations, which will take place from April to October, will allow 450 million Europeans in 27 EU countries to respond to the question “What is your Europe?” and to make concrete recommendations on the functioning of Europe.
Ms. Loiseau will lead citizens’ consultations at the Cité des Associations in Marseille (93, la Canebière) today at 6:00 pm and then at the employment agency in Brignoles (269 Av. adjudant chef Marie Louis Broquier) on April 20 at 3:00 pm. These two public events will be open to the press subject to accreditation.
