A group of Hudson County employees and family members volunteered to package more than 500 boxes of food items to help the less fortunate during the holiday season, county officials said.
The group assembled at the Community Foodbank facility in Hillside as part of the “Day of Action” campaign and put together 532 boxes that contained storable protein, baking supplies, snacks, cereal, drinks and many other shelf stable items, county spokesman Jim Kennelly said. Some of the boxes weighed more than 40 pounds.
