Lexington woman and child held at knifepoint; suspect chased by police

The Dispatch A Thomasville man was arrested for allegedly holding a woman and a child at knifepoint on Monday night before fleeing from the police. Derrick Anthony Pratt, Jr.,  26, of Blair Street in Thomasville, was charged with felony first-degree kidnapping, felony first-degree burglary, misdemeanor stalking, misdemeanor communicating threats, and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. According to information on the arrest warrant provided by the Davidson County Magistrate’s Office, Pratt allegedly broke into the residence on Travis Lane in Lexington and held a woman and her four-year-old child at knifepoint against their will.

ARRESTS The following people were arrested on felony charges by law enforcement agencies in Davidson County, and, unless noted otherwise, were either placed in the Davidson County Detention Center or released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Lexington District Court on the date given: Percy Leon Banks, Jr., 50, of 303 Cotton Grove Road, was charged with felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor open container, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to a half-ounce, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, $12,000 unsecured bond, May 25. Mel R. Burham, 34, of 149 Cliffwood Drive, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods/property, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor injury to real property, $20,000 secured bond, April 30.
