EDWARDSVILLE Three people were charged Thursday in two separate burglaries in the Granite City area.
Robert W. Lewis, 44, and Brittany D. Mundell, 30, both of the 2000 block of Grand Avenue, Granite City, were each charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony.
The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, on March 28 the two allegedly entered a building in the 800 block of E. Chain of Rocks Road, Granite City, to commit theft.
Bail was set at $60,000 each.
In a separate filing, Scott A. Schmacker, 46, of Granite City, was charged with burglary, a Class 2 felony.

Alton man faces home invasion, armed robbery charges

EDWARDSVILLE An Alton man has been charged with armed robbery and home invasion after a November robbery in the 800 block of Ridge Street.
Antonio M. Evans, 26, was charged Dec. 2 with armed robbery and home invasion, both Class X felonies. The charges were sealed until Wednesday, Feb. 17, because Evans was not in custody.
The case was presented by the Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on Nov. 17 Evans, allegedly armed with a silver handgun, entered a home in the 800 block of Ridge Street in Alton while at least one person was there and stole $3,000 in cash.
