New donkeys are set to arrive at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, from France. TEN donkeys are on their way to the Isle of Wight after being saved from going to a slaughterhouse. They are travelling from France and will arrive at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary tomorrow their new home. They had been destined for the Italian meat market, the sanctuary said. There have been weeks of delays, worries and frustration since early November 2020, when Tracy Bradford contacted the sanctuary from Brittany and the ball started rolling. Tracy got eight of the donkeys safely to her small sanctuary to begin their rehabilitation, while the administration process of getting them to Britain got underway.
Louie Neil Blount, age 80, excused himself from the mortal world to join our Heavenly Father on January 24, 2021. Born in the small town of Freeport, Florida on March 9, 1940 to Louis (“Louie”) Needham and Margaret Milbra (Stafford) Blount, he grew up amid hard work and happiness. With nary a video game nor smart phone to be found, he did the unthinkable and worked multiple jobs, played basketball, studied like a kid whose parents were both educators, rode his bike all over town and built enough character to last a lifetime. The Blount House is now maintained by the Town Planters Society of Freeport as a historical landmark and community center.
