Injured woman is rescued after falling in mine near Matlock Bath

An injured woman had to be rescued after falling in a mine near Matlock Bath. Tuesday, 29th December 2020, 2:00 pm The injured woman is attended to by emergency services after being rescued from the mine near Matlock Bath. Photo by Pete Dell. Cave rescuers and the ambulance service helped the casualty during the early morning call-out. The woman, who was in her thirties, was walking in the horizontal mine when she slipped and injured herself. Her companion raised the alarm and emergency services came to her rescue. Seventeen volunteers from Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation, the East Midlands Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Rescue Team (HART) from Mansfield, several ambulance crews and a fire service rescue unit from Staveley attended.
