A man was struck and killed Wednesday night by a driver in a Victorville neighborhood near Village Drive.
The Victorville Sheriff’s Station said the motorist remained at the scene to render aid until first responders arrived.
The sheriff’s station said that at approximately 9:08 p.m., deputies and personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response were dispatched to a collision in the area of North Culver and Burwood roads.
Upon arrival, deputies located a man in the roadway on North Culver Road who was suffering from major injuries, and despite life-saving measures, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene, the sheriff’s report said.

Sheriff’s authorities on Thursday released video surveillance images of a vehicle allegedly involved in the hit-and-run death of a 37-year-old Victorville man.
The Victorville Sheriff’s Station shared the images, taken at approximately 5:40 a.m. Monday, that show what appears to be an older model Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck on Seventh Street.
The truck is dark in color, possibly navy blue, and may have front-end damage, according to the sheriff’s report.
Station officials reported Monday that at approximately 5:46 a.m. that day, deputies and personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a hit and run on Seventh Street near East Sand Street.
