The North Idaho man convicted on a federal charge for a pointing a handgun at police in Pullman following a dangerous high speed car chase has been sentenced. 33-year-old Dustin Pearson of Blanchard pleaded guilty in December to felon in possession of a firearm in U.S. District Court in Spokane.  Pearson was recently sentenced to just over 3 years in federal prison and was placed on probation for 3 years. The case began on the evening of April 1st last year when a Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputy was responding to a vehicle burglary along the Snake River.  Deputy Tyler Langerveld saw Pearson driving the suspect vehicle toward Pullman.  Pearson failed to pull over and led Deputy Langerveld on a chase at speeds up to 120 MPH before he crashed in Pullman on Wawawai Road.  Pearson ran from the vehicle and pointed a handgun at officers before hiding inside a nearby occupied apartment.  He threatened to kill himself during a half-hour standoff before surrendering.  Pearson told of
