Dec 18, Colombo: President’s Counsel Shavendra Fernando, appearing for Deputy Solicitor General Azad Nawawi of the Attorney General’s Department, Thursday requested the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday attack to name the Attorney General’s Coordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne as a hostile witness who insulted the Commission.
President’s Counsel Shavendra Fernando made the request when Attorney-at-Law Nishara Jayaratne was summoned to give evidence before the Commission yesterday (17th).
He said the State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne is evading the questions asked by him and not providing direct answers when testifying before the commission
