HANCOCK COUNTY Even though their wedding started at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, a local sheriff’s deputy and his fiancee spent their morning shopping for kids at the Greenfield Walmart.
Nathan and Victoria Johnson took time before saying “I do” to participate in the annual Shop with a Deputy program put on by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, which provides clothing, toys and other gifts to families each holiday season.
“The program is important to me because I’m able to give back to the community that I grew up in,” said Nathan Johnson, 28. “I’m grateful to be a part of something that is so special to families of Hancock County.”
