Oklahoma To Open COVID-19 Vaccine Registrations To Residents From Other States

COVID-19 vaccines have been available to all Oklahoma adults since the end of March. State Deputy Health Commissioner Keith Reed says Oklahoma is taking a step in the right direction. This is the right thing to do for our neighbors. We hope to see other states that have fared well in administration rates follow suit as we all continue to work together to bring an end to this pandemic, said Reed. Meanwhile interim health commissioner Dr. Lance Frye said, Now is not the time to let our guard down. We encourage Oklahomans to remain vigilant in following the 3 W s as we work to vaccinate as many people across the region as possible and return to a sense of normalcy.

State Health Department Opening Vaccine Access To Non-Residents

State Health Department Opening Vaccine Access To Non-Residents Starting Thursday, anyone can come to Oklahoma from other states to get their COVID-19 vaccine because the state says it has enough supply. The state said they have a very good supply of the COVID vaccine and said if they have the resources, they want to share them with our surrounding states. More than 2 million vaccines have been given in Oklahoma, and Deputy Health Commissioner Keith Reed said the state is still getting about 200,000 doses a week. It makes sense if we have the capacity to administer the vaccine, we should do it for some of our neighbors, Reed said.
