South Metro Fire Rescue said it s not clear if the fire was set intentionally or accidentally.
On Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., the fire department said the fire was officially out. It had grown to 202 acres as of Tuesday afternoon and stayed within park boundaries.
Residents in the immediate area west of Parker Road and people inside Cherry Creek State Park were evacuated.

Anybody who was in the park when the fire started should contact Deputy Fire Marshal Rich Conroy with South Metro Fire Rescue at rich.conroy@southmetro.org or 720-989-2250. A visitor first reported seeing smoke at 4:08 p.m. in the trees on the east side of the reservoir.
