Dept of Education to meet with LMETB over Drogheda Educate Together Secondary School move

LMFM By Simon Doyle The Department of Education and the Louth Meath Education Training Boardwill discuss the temporary move of the Educate Together Secondary School in Drogheda later today.  It comes after raised the issue in the Dáil yesterday, describing it as outrageous   The Department decided earlier this week to move the school from its current site on the Mill Road to the grounds of St. Oliver s Community School. It was ratified following an emergency meeting of LMETB, which left the school s board of management shocked and dismayed . Over 2,000 people have signed a petition against the decision, which Deputy Fergus O Dowd has called outrageous .

  O’Dowd calls on Nursing Homes to avail of €2,500 payment to enable safe visits this Christmas 17th December 2020 - Fergus O Dowd TD Nursing homes can avail of up to €2,500 to enable safe visits this Christmas, Deputy Fergus O’Dowd, Fine Gael TD for Louth has said. Deputy O’Dowd said: “The Temporary Assistance Payment Scheme (TAPS) has been expanded on a once-off basis to allow nursing homes claim up to €2,500 to enable them to enhance the safety of their visiting spaces and also to create additional safe visiting spaces where needed. This was confirmed to me by the Minister of State at the Department of Health, Mary Butler, in response to my Dáil question on nursing home visits this Christmas.
