Mumbai: The alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra could face internal conflicts as recent developments indicate that the finance ministry might slip out of the hands of Devendra Fadnavis to Ajit Pawar, India Today reported.
The long-awaited cabinet expansion of the Maharashtra government is set to occur in July, according to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The Chief Minister will make the final decision on the expansion, which has been delayed for a year since the formation of the Shinde government. Currently, the cabinet consists of only 20 ministers, but up to 43 can be inducted. The delay was initially due to the BJP waiting for the Supreme Court s decision on the disqualification of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs.
