The
Tree Officer and Deputy Conservator of Forests Bengaluru Urban Division have given permission to the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (
BMRCL) to remove 52 trees by way of translocation and cut down 39 trees to make way for the metro work.
The same authority granted permission via an order on March 2 to remove 20 trees to facilitate the formation of new road, five trees for the construction of a retaining
wall at the entry point of the Benniganahalli Lake bund, 42 trees for the construction of diaphragm wall for remaining portion of the lake bund and 24 trees for the structural work.
