Trial runs for 50 beds begin; facility to open for patients from next week
Mysore/Mysuru: A 72-year-old maternity hospital
Seth Mohandas Tulsidas Hospital on JLB Road has paved way for a high-tech 100-bed designated COVID Health Centre in city and the facility was inaugurated this morning. Local residents and old-timers call this Hospital as ‘Hallada Aaspatre’ as it was located in a steep ditch (‘halla’ in Kannada).
The Hospital has been readied and operationalised by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), District Administration (Health Department) along with Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital.

A 100-bed Covid Care Centre with 70 oxygenated bed facility was inaugurated at Seth Mohandas Tulasidas Maternity Hospital on Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Road in Mysuru on Thursday.
Set up jointly by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Cauvery Hospital, it was inaugurated by Minister for Cooperation S.T. Somashekar, who is also in charge of Mysuru district.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Somashekar said the facility will have 10 ICU beds in addition to 70 oxygenated beds. Ten beds each will be reserved for Corona Warriors and pregnant women.

The CM told the media on Tuesday after an emergency Cabinet meeting to take stock of the
Covid situation that to tide over the shortage of oxygen, one of the proposals was to procure all the oxygen manufactured in the State to meet the growing demands of the hospitals. “I have already discussed the issue and am hoping for a favourable reply soon,” Yediyurappa said. The State Cabinet has also approved a decision to procure 5 lakh Remdesivir doses and 1 lakh oxygen concentrators from abroad. The State is also mulling over a plan to supply kits to every home isolated patient.
Mysore/Mysuru: In the wake of surge in
COVID-19 cases in Mysuru, Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri paid a surprise visit to the COVID War Room located at the new DC Office complex on Mysuru-Bannur Road in Siddarthanagar during midnight to see its functioning.
She has been visiting the War Room for the last few days and even receiving telephone calls from the general public besides giving guidance to them.
Many a times, the relatives of Covid positive patients are tensed and they have been counselled by the DC herself. Even the staff of War Room have received many suggestions from her. On occasions, she has directly called the patients’ relatives to get first-hand information about the line of treatment. Many citizens have been awestruck when she introduced herself as the Deputy Commissioner and collected information from them on COVID care.
