Our Correspondent Wokha, June 8 (EMN): Heavy downpour on Wednesday afternoon triggered mudslides and water logging at several areas in Wokha district headquarters. The heavy rainfall caused mudslides at the ongoing road construction on National Highway 2 while water logging and road block caused by debris were reported near the site, affecting the traffic in the area (Forest colony and Saron colony) near the District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry office. Another mudslide was reported at the proposed Deputy Commissioner Office complex area in GA colony, wherein a house was damaged after its wall collapsed. However, no casualties were reported. It was learned that the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) responded to the incidents by deploying a backhoe to clear the debris that had blocked the road and brought the traffic movement to a standstill.
