Corona claims 17 more lives in Multan

MULTAN: Seventeen corona patients died in the Nishtar Hospital during the three days of Eid.
Those died include Raheela Bibi, 43, of Gujrat, M Saleem, 50, and Kaneez Fatima of Multan. Total 249 patients are under treatment in the hospital. The divisional health authorities said that the corona positivity rating was reducing in the division. The corona positivity ratio in Multan is 3.23pc, Vehari 10.71pc and Lodhran 2.78pc.
Total 45 patients tested positive in the division where 1,295 corona tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. In Multan district, 37 patients tested positive after conducted 1,144 corona tests. No patient tested positive in Khanewal district where 24 corona tests were conducted. Two patients tested positive in Lodhran district which conducted 72 corona tests. The Vehari district conducted 56 corona tests and six patients tested positive.
NPHS foundation stone laid in Jalalpur Pirwala

MULTAN: Like in other cities of Punjab, the foundation stone of the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme (NPHS) has been laid in Jalalpur Pirwala where 104 houses will be constructed.
The housing scheme is being set up on 32 Kanal and 14 Marlas. Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone of the project through video link on Thursday at a ceremony organized at the Multan Sports Complex. Parliamentarians and government officials unveiled the foundation stone at the ceremony. Among those who participated in the inauguration were MNA Ahmed Hassan Dehar, MPA Javed Akhtar Ansari, Commissioner Javed Akhtar Mahmood, RPO Khurram Ali Shah, Deputy Commissioner Ali Shehzad and CPO Munir Masood Marth.

MULTAN: Punjab Energy Minister Dr Akhtar Malik Monday said south Punjab Administrative Secretariat would be functional properly after Eidul Fitr at Multan Judicial Complex as a temporary arrangement until the completion of new secretariat building on Multan Mattital Road.
Talking to reporters, the minister said the Punjab cabinet has approved new Rules of Business amended last year in December. He said the new rules have delegated all powers to the South Punjab Administrative Secretariat except policy making and enactment of laws. The south Punjab secretariat would be fully empowered in all matters to provide relief to people of the region, he said.

LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar s plane had to make landing at Rahimyar Khan airport due to bad weather while coming from Karachi to Lahore.
The chief minister called an urgent meeting at the airport in which the development plans of Rahimyar Khan and law and order were reviewed. MNA Chaudhry Javed Iqbal Warraich, MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, Deputy Commissioner Ali Shehzad, DPO Asad Sarfaraz and other officers concerned attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that for the first time in the history, the people of South Punjab were being given their rights. In previous governments, the region was neglected, he added.
