WATERTOWN â The four officers didnât know there was a fire Monday morning until they unlocked the door and watched smoke pour into the hallway, instinctively leading them to hit the deck and crawl to the man inside.
âFor them to risk their lives to go in there and pull him out of that fire â there is no award or not enough thank yous or recognition that could be given for that,â said Tarra S. Murphy, the wife of the man inside.
Mrs. Murphy thought Robert W. Murphy, her husband of 35 years, was dead as she sat in her bedroom Monday, being told he was locked inside a burning building.
