Salleh Said suggests resetting priorities to help Sabah s small economy players

2:21 PM MYT KOTA KINABALU: Sabah needs to reset its priorities to help small economic players impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak, says Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Salleh Said. The Usukan assemblyman added those most impacted by the pandemic comprised traders and small-scale entrepreneurs; self-employed individuals including e-hailing car drivers and shopowners; retail and construction sector workers; farmers, breeders and fishermen; and freelancers. As such, there is a need for coordination of existing facilities such as funds, grants or money-lending opportunities to help these groups, he added. In addition, the government needs to provide a suitable market for small economic players, where studies should be done to determine marketing approaches that benefit the micro-economy players.
