Governor Anies wears Batik sash to demonstrate sympathy for Palestine 3 hours ago
(ANTARA/Dewa Ketut Sudiarta Wiguna) Jakarta (ANTARA) - As a mark of sympathy for the Palestinians fight against Israeli colonialism, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan wore a Batik sash bearing images of Palestinian and Indonesian flags during the Eid al-Fitr prayer on Thursday morning. My children and I wear this sash to demonstrate our sympathy for Palestine, the governor told journalists on the sidelines of the Eid al-Fitr prayer held in the backyard of his house in the Lebak Bulus neighborhood, South Jakarta.
Starting at 7 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), some 30 people, including Baswedan s wife and children, were present during the prayer, which was led by Ustadz Afifudien Rohaly.

The world must condemn and stop this barbaric act, Abbas noted in a statement here on Wednesday.
