because they are going to have a harder time pivoting to the center and trying to make that broad appeal to latino voters in the general election. do you think the president and his team have takenรง latin voters for granted given these numbers and showing the basic support and who the republican opposition is going to be? do you think they are not working hard enough to meet your needs? well, look, i wouldn t say he s not working hard enough. i think he s working very hard. the problem is he s dealing with a lot of big issues out there. and the economy and jobs are important to latino voters as they are to the rest of the americans. but there s no question that we d like to make sure that he is a dressing this deportation issue. it is something that matters tremendously to the latino vote in this country. and so for us, we understand that that s going to be important to see those types of changes in his policy but i will tell you that the republicans
who get deported in these cases, imagine what it does. it tells the world anybody who wants to come to america you jump the fence if you are young and attractive, you will get to stay here. you will get work permit here and maybe even earn citizenship. the millions of people around the world waitin waiting in line illegal and patiently are chumps for not doing it your way. can i just say, i think the whole deportation issue raises the question once again what do we do with the 11, 12 and some say up to 16 million people who are here? that is what supporters are saying. supporters of the administration say we have undocumented population the size of the state of ohio roughly. there has to be decision about prioritizing targets, which to go after first and which ones don t matter right now. that s their point of view. it isn t as if this government which spend
what the president is being asked to do. in effect he s being asked to issue a presidential decree that the law will not be enforced. you re talking about deportations? on the deportation issue. and that s, in my way of thinking, that s an absolutely unreasonable expectation. these folks are here as illegal immigrants because it s against the law to be here without permission. i would say that it s an even more unreasonable expectation that we somehow have the resources and the ability to round up 11 million people and to deport them. that s never going to happen. no, of course not. so why not take a realistic view of the situation and say we ve got these people in our country, why not at least let them go to college and contribute and give something back? i mean as you well know, the reason a lot of states have taken this issue into the state house is because they say the federal government isn t doing it. it s been unwieldly face it,
last-minute snare i don t remember here? i don t see it being a last-minute scenario by itself. here s the reason why. if you deal with those 600,000 or 700,000 individuals without changing the fundamental reason why they are here and the fact that we ll just be dealing with it again. you have seen previous administrations, both democrat and republican, try to deal with it. and they have never been able to deal with it. let s go ahead, once and for all. let s do something his forric and make sure we address it. you want this bill to be big, when i say big, expansive, deal with the entire immigration law. like gang of eight style? not saying the gang of eight bill but that comprehensive? i would like to see it bigger in terms of border security and dealing with this deportation issue. that being said, i want to be truthful, i mean there have been a number of discussions, do you do something really small? do you do something in the middle?
the solution is not to wright more laws. you may see this issue cool down once that happens. what about the deportation issue, kim? that hasn t had as many of the republican other republican candidates get behind it. the point being that he is still saying we would have to put them basically on buses and send them back over the border. is that realistic politically either? no. but i think we re beginning to see what the real affect of donald trump in this race is going to be. it still seems unz likely he might win the nomination. the question is how many positions is he going to push republicans into? by the time he exits this race, and the deportation thing is an
