This public art project is one of several taking place throughout the city as part of the Department of Art, Culture + Tourism (ACT) Public Art Residency, an initiative of the Departments Public Art Program. The six-month residency program places artists in city facilities to engage directly with residents and staff. PROVIDENCE Providence artist Angela “AGONZA” Gonzalez was told that long ago, immigrants built the structures of the Hartford Park public housing projects. They built them strong, she said, and they filled the community that stretches through the western edge of the city.
