it that is the weird thing about the american economy. you can look at the macroeconomics but it feels different to be in it. in the broad aggregate sense, it is way better than i feared it would be. we ll take that statement and run with it. thanks for joining us. one of the many revelations to come out of the january 6 committee hearings was bill barr describing how he pushed back against the election fraud claims. he called them complete b.s. despite the heroic headlines generated by barr s testimony, it is a good point to remember that barr did not say anything publicly debunking those same claims of election fraud until december 1, which was nearly a month after the 2020 election. in fact, before his post-trump rehabilitation tour, this was the bill barr we knew. what happened to the president in the 2016 election and throughout the first two years of his administration was abhorrent. it was a grave injustice and it was unprecedented in american history. the la

investigation, you either bring a charge or you don t. and it turns out that when all the facts came out, it was on the most minor issue about an internal fbi rule, this is something i know very well from my prior job, about when you can open a preliminary investigation versus an assessment versus a full. which is not something that john durham knows anything about, it is not in his wheelhouse, it is an fbi internal rule. and that is not what he fronted, not what he told the public. he made it sound like you really can t trust the inspector general because i know more. and that is when i think that all of us at the department and people who had graduated from the department thought, you know what, there is a problem because john durham has really changed his reputation for being sort of a career guy and straight shoot shooter, something has happened, he has lost his way. that was really the first sign of it. and i d love to know what the
know before is that trump had more than one in road into the justice department. he had jeffrey clark. he also had another man named ken klukowski. ken came to the justice department just 35 days before the inauguration. he came in the middle of december, right around the time that bill barr was leaving. can had previously, in that time between the election and his arrival at the justice department, worked with eastman, the lawyer who was working on the fake electors scheme. and he had worked with him before coming to doj. the committee made clear that those connections were really important, including by taking another look at that georgia letter. and pointing out that further down in the letter, you see some of that rhetoric around fake electors. a letter that jeffrey clark wanted sent to georgia not only says falsely the justice department thought that the election might have been rigged in georgia, but that it would be an opportunity for the state of georgia to take another look
