Newman was involved in a fiery crash at the finish of the race. Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. This is video recorded by obviously a spectator in the stands in florida capturing the moment of the crash taken from a spot where newmans car skidded right past the finish line. It was in this final lap coming out of the final turn, 200 miles an hour they are going here, when ryan blaney nudged bumpers with newman, caught fire as it slid across the finish line. Nascar says newman was listed in serious condition at last nonlife threatening injuries which is great news tound up wi that race for the second straight year. Images of newmans terrible crash brought back memories to a lot of nascar fans of Dale Earnhardts crash. He was killed in the final lap. Too many to mention today because i will inevitably forget one. I want to thank all of them for their tireless work. Many of them live day in and day out. I will go back to my job and that will have nothing to do with this. But these people have dedicated their lives to empowering people with disabilities. Thats really what our members believe. We believe in empowerment through employment and thats what we believe the city and board of supervisors will continue wit

I want to thank you, supervisor mar for scheduling this hearing today and also for starting this conversation about employing people with disabilities. And like you, i also want to thank jonathan lions for the legwork that he put into this effort to bring this issue to all of our attention. It was also exactly 1 year ago that you held this hearing. In your june 2014 hearing was a catalyst to reignite the conversation with the department of Human Resources. The department of Human Resources donna and ed and mickey and linda, they really deserve a lot of credit for all of the work that they have put into organizing this advisory committee.
