The six in the inaugural group of MU Engagement Scholars were named Monday. Engagement could be in the form of public talks, social media and in-person or virtual activities, said Susan Renoe, assistant vice chancellor for research, extension and engagement in a news release. Events might incorporate science, art, music and other innovative ways to describe their research.
The six professors will develop public engagement plans and will have assistance from The Connector, a university unit that helps researchers engage with the public. Each will receive a stipend and seed money to support professional development and engagement activities.
