Telangana newspapers: Not in violation of any rules: Karnataka govt says on EC letter on ads in Telangana newspapers

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has denied that the state government s advertisements in newspapers in poll-bound Telangana do not violate any rules, as they did not ask for votes. The BJP lodged a complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that the Congress violated the Representation of the People Act and the Model Code of Conduct.

These initiatives were spearheaded by senior IAS officer Dr PS Harsha, commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), who was given the responsibility to add 4,000 ICU beds last May by leveraging the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the private companies. The task also included providing financial assistance to ramp up health infrastructure in private hospitals.
