Lawmakers approved dividing the Department of Health and Human Resources into three separate agencies during the 2023 regular legislative session. The split became official Jan. 1, 2024.
WVU received invoices for flights transporting leaders in the West Virginia Legislature, in addition to WVU officials including President Gordon Gee, totaling roughly $209,000 from the start of 2021 through June 2023, according to documents obtained through a Gazette-Mail Freedom of Information Act request.
