An extensive thermal aerial survey has not detected wild goats in Tongariro National Park, but the Department of Conservation is calling for the public to stay vigilant.
A cohort of kākāpō are settling into a new home on Coal Island/Te Puka-Hereka in Fiordland following a successful translocation on Friday. The Department of Conservation, Ngāi Tahu and Coal Island Trust moved four male kākāpō to the Fiordland site .
