Alexander was in the 600 block of North Pacific Coast Highway around 9 a.m. on Dec. 29 when a male suspect stabbed him with a knife and stole his Jeep Cherokee. While Alexander was being treated at the scene, then transported to hospital, the Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department engaged in a brief pursuit of the suspect, who crashed into another vehicle, then two telephone poles and finally a wall in Rancho Palos Verdes.
The suspect, who was hospitalized, is identified as Silas John Marczak, 30, from Minneoti, Minnesota, according to a press release provided by the Redondo Beach Police Department. The occupant of the vehicle he hit was uninjured.

REDONDO BEACH, CA A suspect accused of stabbing and carjacking a man outside a Redondo Beach shopping plaza last week was identified Tuesday as a 30-year-old from Minnesota.
Police said Silas John Marczak approached a man in the parking lot near a Smart & Final store, in the 600 block of North Pacific Coast Highway, on Dec. 29 and stabbed him in the upper body before taking off in the victim s Jeep Cherokee.
Marczak was spotted by authorities in Rancho Palos Verdes, and he led them on a brief chase before crashing into another vehicle, then two telephone poles and a cinder block wall near Western Avenue and Avenida Aprenda, said Lt. Shawn Freeman of the Redondo Beach Police Department.
