At first, hannah can only see the bitter in this move. She feels the loss of her friends and her home which she loved and all the Little Things about that life that a child would notice. She eventually does learn to find the sweet in her new situation. The point of the story for me is about more than just a move. Its about change. I think its really important for us as adults to help kids learn recivil resilientcy. We live in a world even if you stay in the same place, San Francisco bay area, that transition is all around us.
