Fingal County Council has received almost €15 million in funding from the National Transport Authority for sustainable transport projects around the county.
Some €14,870,000 provided from the NTA will help progress 23 projects across Fingal such as the Harry Reynolds Road Cycle Track, Donabate Estuary walking and cycling route and the Broadmeadow Way. These projects are part of a wider sustainable transport infrastructure programme to tackle climate change.
Providing safe and sustainable infrastructure will undoubtedly assist the growing numbers of cyclists who are now using the roads in towns and villages across Fingal over the past years.
The Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. David Healy welcomed the announcement: This is wonderful news. We are seeing many more people in Fingal walking and cycling due to the pandemic, so it is crucial that we develop quality routes for walking and cycling to allow greater movement within our communities. These projects will improve safety for people
