A GARTOCHARN-BASED crime novelist is counting down the days until the release of the first of three new books out this year. Denzil Meyrick worked as a police officer, distillery manager, freelance journalist and company director before using his experiences in the police force to inspire his best-selling crime fiction books. In 2019, he was nominated for Bloody Scotland’s William McIlvanney Prize, which honours the best Scottish crime novel of the year. And the first of his new books, For Any Other Truth, will be published on June 3, with follow up novel Terms of Restitution set for release in September.
