Horse was showing signs or symptoms of colic when it went in for treatment. They are still opening an investigation to determine whether or not the horse may have been neglected. The death of a horse on denver pds mounted unit has prompted an internal affairs investigation. The horse named mc hammer has been with them since last year. A relatively new member of the unit. Raised concerns about abuse and prompted our calls to denver police. According to their spokesperson, the horse was taken to a clinic on tuesday with symptoms of colic. Today police say they made the difficult decision to put the horse town. Another camera picks up the scene in which mayfield and a man run to their car as shots are being fired. The man on the drivers side appears to have been struck. They drive to Denver Health Medical Center where that man died mayfield was sentenced to 57 months in prison for being a felon in possession of ammunition pretty pled guilty to the crime back in june.
