Fresh out of the University of Denver, Salomon Marcos Garza Jr. was told he had three months to save Tivoli Brewing Co. when he took over in January.
The 22-year-old is the son of the brewery’s majority stakeholder, Salomon Juan Marcos Villarreal, and had been working at Tivoli for six months before his promotion to replace former CEO Ken Hehir.
“I’m very young but I have the drive and the education,” Garza told BusinessDen. “It’s a team job and, I know I don’t know a lot of stuff about the brewing side and selling side, but I’ve been working with my staff to learn. As one of the oldest breweries in Denver, we want to make it the best.”

relaunching itself with new branding, the driving forces behind Boulder Beer Co. say the state’s first craft brewery will aim to open a new taproom in its namesake city in the next two years.
In an interview with BizWest, Sleeping Giant Brewing Co. president and founder Matthew Osterman said Boulder Beer never really went away after its production and recipes were offloaded by Boulder Beer Co. founders Gina and Frank Day.
Good River Beer files for bankruptcy but contract brewer will keep brand afloat

Good River Beer Co. has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, but the beer will keep on flowing.
Denver-based Sleeping Giant Brewing, which has already been contract brewing Good River’s products, is one of the company’s largest creditors and will be taking over the Good River brand.
“Good River beers will remain on the shelf,” Sleeping Giant founder Matthew Osterman said. “The company’s filing is simply part of a restructuring within the brand.”
Osterman said Sleeping Giant will continue production of Good River’s brews “indefinitely and uninterrupted.”
