miscalculate. the question is, again, what will we command? what are we prepared to give up for it? at what point would we release sanctions? are the iranians willing to compromise? if it is like the north korea talks, guess what, it is. are we prepared to take half a loaf? they have to decide whether they re prepared to take half a loaf. what is the outcome of the north korea talks so far? zilch because we made it all or nothing. all or nothing diplomacy, in history, ends up being nothing. if we re prepared to compromise with the north koreans, not denucle denuclearize, but put limits on their capabilities in exchange for released sanctions, we may get something. are they willing to sign on to something that doesn t solve the problem but manage the problem? fascinating discussion this morning. i really appreciate it. thank you. alisyn? john, prince charles agreeing to meet with president trump during his upcoming state visit to the uk. the topic that could create some tens
he made little movement indeed and the great worry is that to put it frankly, president trump is being naive that he s going to sleepwalk into a bad deal here that he sees these lovely beautiful letters as he calls them and he s fallen in love with kim jong-un. he mistakes that affection for some commitment to denuclearize. i think not a lot has change and some of the same worries we had for the singapore summit that we still have for this huddle in hanoi, katy. let s bring in our kourtney. kourtney, a lot of what has been happening in north korea. what do we know and it has been eight months since donald trump sat down with chairman kim. one thing that generally happen is when you have a high
for denuclearization. joining me now is hans nichols at the white house and bill neely who s in vietnam. what is happening in these interviewing months to make the second summit necessary? reporter: well, katie, to be honest, not a lot. in fact, almost nothing on denuclearization. i think there had been two trends. snuggling of lower levels of officials. kim wants to talk to president trump and nobody else. the other thing that s noticeable are some of the warnings from u.s. officials, c dan coats, saying he does not believe that kim will ever denucle denuclearize. remember the singapore summit
investigation is a nonstarter? in the end, it s her under oath. let s have that. let s get her in front of congress. let s have her be able to tell her side of the story. chairman grassley said we can do it privately. we ll fly to california. that s what needs to help. let s stop delaying, playing into the democrat talking points of delay, delay, delay. holding this to the 11th hour. dianne feinstein was serious about this, this should have started 45 days ago when she got that letter. they weren t serious about it. they wanted to hold it in their back pocket to stop this process from going forward. it was a political calculus and it s shameful. neil: thanks, ronna. the rnc chair woman. good seeing you. thanks for having me. neil: promising signs out of north korea and an agreement to denucle denuclearize. we have to do kind of the same
stages to denuclearize. yeah, that s a step forward. we should give them credit for that. they have never committed independent inspectors before. what are we going to see? we re going to see the destruction of a rocket engine test site and also a missile launch site used to put their satellites up in orbit. they ll have independent inspectors observing that. good thing. but it s not disarmorment. it s not nuclear weapons. it s not ballistic missiles. and that clearly is the main issue. what we ve been pressing for, we ll see that this is progress. but what we really want, we want a list of all of their nuclear sites, all of their ballistic sites, we want the verify that existence against the list that we have from our intelligence agencies and then we want to see some reasonable timeline to denuclearize all of those sites.
