(Ziegler, IL) An accountant is being sanctioned for his handling of documents in the embezzlement case of former Ziegler Treasurer Ryan Thorpe. Former City of Ziegler auditor Dennis Uhls was fined last month for destroying files related to audits conducted during Thorpe’s term. Thorpe was sentenced in June 2018 to 48 months in federal prison for embezzling over 300-thousand dollars from the city for person use.
