One of the top middle attackers in college men’s volleyball has opted to play professionally instead of returning for his senior season.
Simon Andersen announced recently on Instagram that he will forgo the remainder of his college career at Long Beach State and will play for Decospan, a professional team in Belgium.
Andersen finished Long Beach State’s abbreviated 2021 season second in the nation averaging 1.40 blocks per game. The National Blocker of the Year finalist also was in the nation’s top 15 with a .392 attack percentage, including having a season-high 12 kills while hitting .667 in a victory against UC Irvine.
