Raad Almansoori, 26, told officers he first tried to strangle Denisse Oleas-Arancibia, 38, inside the Soho 54 Hotel on Feb. 8 before he ultimately decided to beat her to death, Arizona police officer Jeremy Goebel told a judge in Maricopa County Superior Court, where Almansoori was denied bail on Monday.
