Laurier researchers use remote sensors to predict ice thickness in Canada s North

A group of Wilfrid Laurier researchers have been working with the Dene First Nations in the Northwest Territories by using a system of remote sensors so that people can know the thickness of ice before they go out after three snowmobilers died after falling through the ice in 2019. Homa Kheyrollah Pour is set to return to the north this week to continue that work.
