Like us on Facebook.   DUMMERSTON Lydia Taft Pratt Library will be hosting a book discussion via Zoom of Angie Thomas’s work, The Hate U Give, on Wednesday, June 2, at 6 p.m. via Zoom. “This will be the third meeting of Lydia Taft Pratt Library’s Racial Justice Book Group and everyone is encouraged to attend, said Library Director Dena Marger. The Hate U Give is such an important, timely, and really well written story! Lydia Taft Pratt Library reopening to public browsing this week

Don t miss the big stories. Like us on Facebook.   DUMMERSTON — The Lydia Taft Pratt Library will reopen to the public for in-library browsing today, and will continue to be open on Saturdays. The decision came from the library Board of Trustees at their April 27 meeting. “Our library never stopped serving our community, but the pandemic has shifted the way we’ve all done lots of things,” said Library Director Dena Marger. “We have offered and will continue to offer curbside pick-up service, interlibrary loan services, online resources and telephone reference help. But, as of (today), we’ll be able to see everyone’s (masked) faces again! We’ve missed our community!”

Book group to discuss, So You Want to Talk About Race

Like us on Facebook.   DUMMERSTON — Lydia Taft Pratt Library will be hosting a book discussion via Zoom of Ijeoma Oluo’s work, “So You Want to Talk About Race.” The event will take place Wednesday, April 28, at 6 p.m. via Zoom. Those interested in participating in this event may contact Librarian Dena Marger at the library to receive a copy of the book, and instructions for logging into Zoom. The Lydia Taft Pratt Library’s Racial Justice Book Group officially launched last month with a discussion of James Baldwin’s classic work “The Fire Next Time.”
