The Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal today calls on the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leadership to act against their Abaqulusi Municipality Mayor, Cllr Mncedisi Maphisa, who has refused to appoint a Municipal Manager bringing the municipality to a standstill. This follows the interviews that were done for an appointment of a Municipal Manager. All members of the panel agreed on the appointed candidate and the mayor was the chairperson of the panel. It is alleged that the first ranked candidate was not the Mayor's first choice.
