this is what senator dick durbin had to say about that. take a listen. you know, i hear this phrase, death spiral, it s in a death spiral because the republicans have their hands around its throat. so is that in a death spiral they have their hands around its throat. who s right on this one? it s kind of like saying that democrats were at fault for the way the bush administration prosecuted the iraq war. it was drafted by democrats. it was passed by demi yats and the design flaws in the bill were the problems of exactly what democrats drafted. so i think they have to own up for their responsibility in that. but i don t think the house bill can honestly say that. i think there s big problems
