David Wise, a Director at Space Architects, shows the new Iridis App, designed as part of a joint venture with the University of Stirling SPACE Architects has signed a joint-venture with world-class dementia research specialists the University of Stirling, forming a new company, Iridis Digital Ltd. The five-figure co-investment will see Iridis bring together architecture, research and technology to improve the process of ageing. New technology developed through the partnership will allow older people and those living with dementia to enjoy a higher quality of life for longer, promoting independent living. The venture has led to the creation of the Iridis Homeowner application – available at the App Store and Google Play – aimed at assessing how ‘dementia friendly’ buildings are and where improvements can be made. The App, which is the first of its kind, has so far been downloaded 3,000 times globally.
