DEMENTIA Friendly Keighley is seeking volunteers. The charity is looking for people to cover a wide range of roles, from helping with activity groups to general office administration. Volunteers are also needed for a soon-to-be-launched befriending and respite service – Time to Take; Aire – which aims to support the housebound or those with limited mobility through reminiscence sessions involving sight, touch, taste, smell and sound. Free training is offered to volunteers. Dementia Friendly Keighley manager, Julie Lintern, said: Covid has had a profound impact on us all. We all experienced the feeling of isolation and loneliness and being cut-off from the world. I like others am pleased to feel that each day we re getting closer to normality but unfortunately isolation, loneliness and feeling unsupported are normality for some.

Like many other attractions, the museum had been forced to shut its doors due to lockdown. But visitors have been welcomed back. And the reopening coincided with the launch of a new sensory walking route in the grounds. Opening hours at Cliffe Castle and Bradford Council’s other museums and galleries have been revised, however no pre-booking is required. Admission is free. People can visit the museum between 10am and 4pm Wednesdays to Fridays and 11am to 4pm at weekends. Covid safety measures – including one-way systems and the wearing of face masks – are in place, plus over-16s need to provide information for Test and Trace. Visitor numbers will be monitored.
