DELTON, MI For the second time in five years, a West Michigan high school band will travel to Hawaii for the Pearl Harbor memorial events.
The Delton Kellogg High School Band was invited to the 2021 Pearl Harbor Memorial events, commemorating the 80th anniversary of World War II, according to a press release from the school district.
Representing the state of Michigan, the Delton Kellogg band will perform in the Commemorative Concert Series on Dec. 7, in Waikiki, Hawaii, the release said.
“I am very grateful that another group of students will have this opportunity to learn more about our veterans, what sacrifices they have made, and how they can continue to honor them along with our current servicemembers,” Band Director Sara Knight said.
