Bowling Green State University student hospitalized after alleged hazing incident

He was a beloved son, brother, and grandson, family attorney Sean Alto said. Foltz was hospitalized Thursday after alleged hazing activity involving alcohol consumption at an off-campus Pi Kappa Alpha event in Bowling Green, Ohio, the university said in a statement. He was in critical condition at the ProMedica Toledo Hospital for three days.
Stone Foltz, 20, was given a copious amount of alcohol, attorney Sean Alto told The Columbus Dispatch.
In a statement to CNN on Sunday, Alto called Foltz s death a tragedy. He was a beloved son, brother, and grandson, Alto said. At this time we are gathering all of the facts leading to his untimely death and we have no interest in commenting on speculation.
Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity said in a statement Saturday that a new member of the BGSU chapter was involved in an alleged incident of alcohol-related hazing at an off-campus event. The International Fraternity is horrified and outraged by this incident, the international fraternity said in a statement. The Fraternity has a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal activity, substance abuse, bullying, and hazing of any kind.
‘A student and unreported new member of the Delta Beta Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Bowling Green, Ohio, was involved in an alleged incident of alcohol-related hazing at an off-campus event.’
Fraternity officials said they are
‘horrified and outraged by this incident’.
‘The Fraternity has a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal activity, substance abuse, bullying, and hazing of any kind. Let us reiterate in the strongest terms: We refuse to defend or condone any behavior that creates dangerous environments or situations for our members or the larger campus community at any of our 200+ chapters in the United States and abroad,’ the release continued.
